The ManagerJimmy Quinn He will take charge of his first game as Bournemouth boss at Meadow Lane today, after replacing sacked Kevin Bond this week.

The former Northern Ireland international played for the Cherries for one season, in 1991/92 - and scored 19 goals in 43 league games.

As a manager, he steered Shrewsbury back into the Football League in 2004, and guided Cambridge United to the Blue Square Premier play-off final last season, losing to Exeter City.

Gavin Strachan has returned to training, following a hamstring injury, but is not in contention to play for the Magpies.

Stephen Hunt (groin) and Adam Nowland (hamstring) are also sidelined, but Jamie Forrester has recovered from illness.

Striker Alan Connell is out with a knee injury, suffered in his first training session with the Cherries following his move from Brentford.

Defender Scott Guyett (hamstring), Ryan Garry (groin) and ex-Magpies loanee Craig Lindfield (hamstring) are also sidelined for the visitors.

It will be a tussle of two attack-minded midfielders at Meadow Lane.

Butcher has started the season in style with three goals so far, while former England international Anderton is one of the Cherries' main creative influences.
